Our Owner & CEO
Gema Simon is a proud Gumbaynggirr woman born in Armidale (Anaiwan country) and grew up in Newcastle on Awabakal land. Gema is an 11-time capped Matilda (Australian Women’s National football team) and has represented Australia at the 2019 World Cup in France.
As owner and CEO of the Baynyi Group, Gema is now dedicating the next phase of her professional life to creating a sustainable Indigenous business that makes a real and measurable difference in Indigenous communities.
Through our partnership with the Baynyi Foundation, we proudly donate 5% of all earnings to support initiatives that:
- Improve health outcomes for Indigenous people
- Provide pathways to education and training
- Increase Indigenous participation in sport
